Sephora - Diving In Malaysia

Hi everyone! Today I have a special polish to show you, it's Sephora's Diving In Malaysia, supposedly a Chanel Peridot dupe. Now, I don't own the famous Peridot, so I can't make a real comparison. But from the many pictures floating on the web, you can tell they're very similar. Like Peridot, Diving In Malaysia is an olive gold shimmer with a multichrome effect. In the bottle, it looks gorgeous. There are flashes of vivid blue, green and even purple. So pretty. But unfortunately that rainbow isn't that evident on the nails, where only the greens shows up. Still I think it's very intruiging, the way the gold subtly changes to green is just beautiful and makes it different than all my other gold shimmers. So I am beyond happy with this unique polish in my collection. And having paid only €4.05 (with 30% discount) to get this close to the real deal was a nice plus, which my wallet also appreciated very much. The regular price for Diving In Malaysia is €5.80 for a bottle of 5ml/0.16fl.oz. Chanel Peridot costs €22 for 14ml/0.5fl.oz. You do the math :)

  1. Wat een bijzondere kleur! Echt super mooi! Deze zal ik ook meenemen wanneer ik bij Sephora ben. Heb je het via het web (in USA hebben ze nog wel eens andere kleuren die hier niet te krijgen zijn) of bij Sephora in NL gekocht?

  2. I have Péridot in my WL, but I was never going to fork out that much for a bottle of polish, knowing as we all know that drugstore brands will be working on dupes.
It seems Sephora has won the race.

  3. Hmm....interesting! I also walk by the little Sephora nail polishes, and go for the OPI ones, but I might need to stop by and check them out the next time I'm there!

  4. Inderdaad een paar dagen geleden een tweede blogpost aan gewijd omdat ik ze eindelijk naast elkaar kon leggen. Zo gaaf zoals de Sephora versie op die van Chanel lijkt :)

  8. Very nice polish and yes it does look like Peridot, although it doesn't seem like there's any dusty pink duochrome in Diving in Malaysia. I have Peridot and it also is a bit darker, has more depth, shine and shimmer (or micro fine glitter) than this. A good dupe would be mixing Diving in Malaysia with Catrice's Welcome to the jungle.

  11. I like this one better actually than Peridot which I did not get because it was too much gold in my face in it's duochrome. If they had reduced the gold as this one seems to have done just a tish, I would have probably hopped on all the hype for Peridot. Now have been seeing some others in green gold ranges coming out - don't have much shopping where I live however. Thanks for pointing this one out. I had not seen/heard about this one yet. I like the mini in case it's a color that I am not sure of or know right off I will wear for a season and then feel dated in it. I did buy the Graphite from the Chanel collection Peridot is in because I knew it had legs for years of wear in my collection.

  12. Sephora used to have something that looked very similar to Essie SSN, but sadly the brush was hideous and the formula was the most clumpy I had ever encountered! I think they do come up with lovely colours occasionally, like the Peridot dupe you're wearing. Very nice! I don't think anyone could tell the difference :)

  14. Even if it's not a Peridot dupe, it's really nice (if only the blue flash was visible on nails, too)!

  17. With only one layer, I can see both the gold and green on my nails. It looks a lot more gold (and waaaay less green for me). Anyway, very pretty!
